ER & ERP Series Roots Vacuum Pump
ER & ERP Series Roots Vacuum Pump
The ER & ERP Series Roots Vacuum Pump, also known as a mechanical booster pump, is a positive displacement pump used to achieve middle and high vacuum levels. It operates using two figure-8 rotors that rotate synchronously to facilitate suction and exhaust.
Key Differences Between ER and ERP
The primary distinction lies in the pump's protection mechanism:
ER Series: Standard EVP Roots vacuum pump.
ERP Series: Includes an integrated by-pass valve to protect the pump from overload.
Overload Protection: In ERP models, if gas pressure exceeds the maximum allowable limit, the by-pass valve opens to discharge excess gas and reduce chamber pressure. This allows the pump to start safely even if the backing pump has not yet reached the required vacuum degree.
Main Features
Operation: Provides stable operation with low vibration and noise, and it is resistant to small amounts of dust.
Efficiency: Features rapid startup to reach ultimate vacuum quickly while maintaining low power consumption.
Improved Sealing: The sealing structure between the pump and bearing chambers has been enhanced to significantly reduce oil emulsification in the gear and bearing cavities.
Cleanliness: Uses a non-oil seal design to completely avoid oil spills, oil returning, or soot pollution.
Applications
These pumps are widely used across various industrial sectors, including:
Manufacturing: Vacuum smelting, welding, casting, and coating.
Processing: Vacuum drying, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and electric vacuum device manufacturing.
Vapor Pumping: When paired with a liquid ring vacuum pump, they are suitable for pumping large quantities of water vapor and solvents.
